Green Flash Concert Lineup for Birch Aquarium Announced

It is summer concert time! annual Green Flash Concert Series starts on May 16. Six performing artists/bands were selected to play five dates at the picturesque viewing deck at the aquarium in La Jolla.

Tickets are on sale now. Prices are $27 for pre-sale tickets, $32 at the door or $130 for a season pass. All tickets are general admission and standing-room only. There are discounts for Birch Aquarium members.

Admission includes the concert and entrance to the aquarium.

Appetizers, craft beers and wines are available for purchase during all concerts.

Proceeds support exhibits and educational programming at Birch Aquarium.

Performer: Eve Selis

Performer: Needtobreathe (with Damon Castillo Band)
This South Carolina-based quartet led by brothers Bear and Bo Rinehart has a fervent following. The band is known for its impressive vocals, rhythmic swagger, sweeping sonics and self-penned, hard rock anthems.

Wednesday, July 18
Performer: Matt Nathanson 
Known for hits Come On Get Higher and Faster, singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson’s heartfelt lyrics and perfect blend of folk-rock style create the perfect soundtrack to a California summer evening.

Wednesday, August 15

Performer: The Dunwells 
Striking an organic blend between acoustic and electric roots, UK band The Dunwells' music feels both excitingly fresh and warmly familiar.

Performer: The Heartless Bastards
Texas-based band The Heartless Bastards' eclectic, energetic and distinctive sound is marked by singer-songwriter Erika Wennerstrom's remarkable voice, at turns primal and pleading, heartfelt and heroic. 

Wednesday: Sept. 19
Performer: Steve Poltz
We just can't seem to get enough of this guy. Playful singer-songwriter and San Diego legend Steve Poltz returns for a clever, creative and fun-filled evening. Always quirky and unpredictable.
