Fashion Film Festival Kickoff Is 'Sweet' Success

Fred Sweet's opening night reception for the second annual La Jolla Fashion Film Festival was held Friday at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla.

The second annual La Jolla Fashion Film Festival (LJFFF) commenced Friday night at the in La Jolla with a very VIP and fashionable reception.

Among the international fashionistas and film industry people there were Fred Sweet, the LJFFF director and CEO of San Diego Model Management; Erin Citti, manager of festival activities; Diana Cavagnaro, a local couture hat designer and fashion reporter; and directors Marcus K. Jones and Miguel Jacob.

In addition, Linda Comer of San Diego Model Management, model Korbin McCarthy with his sister Mariah McCarthy, film producer May Zawaideh and her musician daughter Lena Zawaideh, designer Francisco Medavog, and designer Saam Adams of SaAm Designs were in attendance.

The Film Festival boasts parties and extravagant receptions, as well as 20 short film viewings each night.

“LJFFF opening night was a great success” Adams said.  “I thought this year's venue was a fantastic choice. The films were extremely varied, full of interest both from the cinematic point of view, as well as, the subject matter of the films. Can't wait for day number two.”

The evening continued with a much anticipated after party at featuring four never before seen portraits of Andy Warhol by celebrity photographer Karen Bystedt. Bystedt has also photographed the likes of Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Keanu Reeves.

Saturday's agenda of the LJFFF is fashionably filled with lectures, screenings, more meet and greets, and more after party fun at Barfly.
