San Diego Jewish Book Fair

The San Diego Jewish Book Fair runs Nov. 3 through 10, 14 and 15. The festival includes a lineup of acclaimed authors, lectures, an evening of comedy and a Family Day celebration.

Today is the Global Day of Jewish Learning. The following events are free:

  • Rabbi Michael Leo Samuel, Birth and Rebirth Through Genesis: A Timeless Theological Conversation at 10 a.m.
  • Pastry chef Paula Shoyer, The Kosher Baker: 160 Dairy-free Recipes from Traditional to Trendy at 2 p.m.
  • Noah Hadas, "Talmud for Dummies" at 3 p.m.
  • Yitzhak Rabin Tribute at 4 p.m.
  • and Joel Hoffman, And God Said: How Translations Conceal the Bible's Original Meaning at 4:15 p.m.

  • A special evening of comedy with Joel Chasnoff, The 188th Crybaby Brigade: A Skinny Jewish Kid from Chicago Fights Hezbollah: A Memoir at 7:30 p.m.
