Escape to the Movies

Does your day start before your kids wake up and end sometime after the Late Show with David Letterman? Being a dedicated wife, loyal mom and hard worker takes up a lot of your time but it doesn’t mean you can’t find some time for yourself. This week’s pick is to simply slip out to a movie.

It is officially awards season. We are in the thick of it. Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globes last month. Christina Aguilera redeemed herself at the Grammys over the weekend after she mumbled the words to the national anthem at the Super Bowl. And next up is the Oscars. You don’t need to don an Armani floor-length gown or style your locks like Justin Bieber. All you need is $10 and two hours to be a part of the movie magic.

There are 10 films up for Best Motion Picture of the Year including Black Swan, The Fighter and The King’s Speech. Many of these films are still in theaters. Go ahead and fill up your large mommy purse with snacks and head out to one of the local theaters.
