Christian Film Festival Visits La Jolla

An often overlooked film genre is making its mark here in La Jolla.

The San Diego Christian Film Festival begins today and La Jollans don’t have to travel far to attend this family-friendly event.

In only its second year, the (SDCFF) is being held at the . The event is four days long filled with feel-good films and moral-message movies. Two theaters will be previewing the films and you can check out the film titles as well as the schedule of the films right here

While all films contain no “explicit sexual matter or gratuitous violence,” some films do contain mature subject matter and are noted as so on the link provided above. Most films are suitable for families, but parental accompaniment is required for some films.

Aside from lots of creative and unique films, the four-day event will also feature numerous workshops. The workshops are scattered throughout the days and are led by film makers, producers, past winners of the festival and more. Topics include how to succeed in Hollywood while maintaining your morals, how to cross over in the film industry genres without “selling out,” among others.

SDCFF is also setting up an “on-demand film bistro” for those who want to view a film but can’t make it to the timed showing. Guests can “check out” the film and watch it on a provided portable DVD player. About 40 films will be screened during the festival.

The film festival begins today and runs through Dec. 30. All screenings and workshops will be at the and tickets can be purchased here for your convenience.

Ticket prices cost anywhere from $9 for a single film viewing, $25 for a single day pass, $75 to see all 40 films, $125 for all films and workshops and $150 for access to all events at the festival, including awards ceremony. Discounts for groups and additional children are given as well as for students, seniors and military with ID. A parking pass is $5.50
