Burlesque Babydolls Coming to MCASD La Jolla Friday

The Burlesque Babydolls will bring you on a journey from the 40s to modern day burlesque dance on Friday at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla.

Get ready for a sexy weekend with Marilyn Monroe, Betty Page and 25 other burlesque beauties. The Burlesque Babydolls are putting on Discover Burlesque - Not Just A Girlie Show at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla on Friday.

Kristina Chan, director and lead Babydoll, told Patch that the performance takes the audience on a journey from burlesque's inception to the present upbeat tease. Chan said the show includes 1950s-style burlesque backed by a live jazz band, comic emcees, vocalists, samba dancers, swing dancers, variety acts and modern burlesque teases.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy a glass of wine before the show at the MCASD.

There is no nudity in this show, however there are performances that include less discretion. Discover Burlesque – Not Just a Girlie Show is not recommended for children under 16 years of age.

Tickets are $40 to $65 dollars and can be purchased online or at the box office the night of the performance.
