A Weekend of Cabaret

The San Diego Dance Theatre is hosting a mixed bag of dancing this weekend.

San Diego Dance Theater (SDDT) is celebrating 40 years of art and entertainment with a year-long Ruby Red dance series. First up? .

This month, La Jollans can watch some cabaret dances that mix audience and critic favorites with food and jewelry. A cabaret club-atmosphere will fill the Neuroscience Institute a reprise of By George/By Jean, a tribute to the music of George Gershwin presented last season, will take place.  

Featured company dancers include Blythe Barton, Annie Boyer, Alana Burree, Matt Carney, Anthony Diaz, John Diaz, Trystan Loucado, and Minaqua McPherson with Katie Harroff and Liv Isaacs-Nolett featured on vocals and text. A multi-media piece that includes texts, projections and more, will be featured during the production.

Along with the performances, the shows will feature local jewelry designer Ann Hardee and her latest creations in the lobby. A portion of all sales will go to benefit San Diego Dance Theater and guests will also receive a 10 percent "thank you for helping" discount. Check out Hardee’s merchandise here.

The shows take place at and the schedules are as follows:

  • Saturday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 8 and 15 at 6:30 p.m.

Those interested can buy a Cabaret Club ticket for $45 and get reserved priority seating and access to Cabaret Salon featuring pre-show buffet and post-show dessert bar in Lobby Lounge.

General admission is $25 per show, with seniors paying just $20 and students paying $15. Those who are members of the SDDT pay just $10. Tickets can be bought here online and those interested in becoming SDDT members can call 619-225-1803.
