San Diego Filmmakers Document Our Ties To The Ocean

San Diego filmmakers have produced a documentary that asks each of its subjects to describe their connection to the ocean for their film, "What The Sea Gives Me."

This winter has given us so many sunny, warm days we could almost call it beach weather, and the fact we can enjoy the sea and beach in January says a lot about life in San Diego. It also says a lot about how much we define ourselves by our proximity to the ocean — and we're not alone.

A new documentary focuses on a variety of people who have close ties to the sea, including a great white shark researcher, an ocean scientist and a body surfer.
