Photos: Bikes Blessed on Mount Soledad

Around 300 motorcyclists rolled into La Jolla Saturday morning for the "Blessing of the Bikes."

Drizzly conditions did not dampen the enthusiasm of the approximately 300 San Diego motorcycle enthusiasts who converged on Mount Soledad Saturday morning to have their bikes blessed. San Diego Harley-Davidson sponsored the “Blessings of the Bikes,” which coincided with the beginning of motorcycle season and included a speech by California State Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher.

Event organizer Myke Shelby said he hoped to encourage safe riding and “bring awareness” to the fact that the Mt. Soledad Cross is a national monument.

Pastor Z from Bikers for Christ International Motorcycle Ministry led the blessing ceremony.
