Kick Off Christmas with a Parade and Festival

The annual La Jolla Christmas parade is this Sunday.

Ho, ho, ho! Who wouldn’t go...to this weekend’s Christmas parade?

The 54th annual is this Sunday and it’s the perfect chance to get the whole family in the holiday spirit (if they aren’t, already!) The parade’s theme is “Classic Christmas” and will include floats, canine units, bands, equestrians, beauty queens and fire engines. Click here to see everyone involved in the parade.

The festivities will begin with an antique aircraft flyover before the parade begins at 2 p.m. The grand marshal for the Classic Christmas parade will be June Barrymore Ash, the goodwill marshals are Robert Meanley and William White, the traditional marshals are Nancy Warwick and Dennis Wills and the military marshal will be Neil Ash.

The holiday fun will end with a special Christmas tree lighting at 4:30 p.m. Families will gather around the community Christmas tree and watch it get all lit up, symbolically marking the beginning of the holiday season.
