Carlsbad Patch

With a little help from her friends, Kelly "Kels" Kirkland is asking the community to Bring Used Shoes to Ralph's in Carlsbad to Help Local Dying of Lung Disease. Kels is battling Pulmonary Fibrosis, and is holding the shoe drive to bring attention to September being Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) Awareness Month.

There was good news this week when Mutilation Victim Puppy Finds his Happy Ending was announced. Pongo, the little pup whose ears were cut off then left for dead in the trash, found a new home with a San Diego Couple.

Talk about a smooth criminal. Local police were faced with a “hairy” situation when a thief made off with $564 Worth of Razors Stolen from Vons in Coronado. The suspect also picked up Olay products valued at $389 before dashing out the door.

Imperial Beach Patch

Meet the T-shirt pastor, who wants to know if you Wanna Have Coffee Sometime? John Edwards, the new minister at IB United Methodist Church, is on a mission to make new friends. You can find him blogging on IB Patch, in the pulpit Sundays or at West Coast Café most other days. 

Ramona Patch

Local Editor Steven Bartholow featured a video segment from a local politician called “Are You Kidding Me?” in his storyAssemblyman Jones Calls for Public Input on ‘Transgender Bathroom Bill,’ which addresses new legislation that allows students to be on a sports team or use bathroom and locker facilities with the gender they identify with, regardless of their actual gender.
