Do you think the gate, which was recently installed near La Jolla Cove to allow human movement onto the cliffs where sea lions and birds usually lounge, is partially responsible for a reduction in the smell?
The idea is that if people are walking on the cliffs, the animals will not stay so long and the smell will diminish. A second thought is that the usually high surf may have washed off some of the animal waste.
