Controlled Burns Scheduled for Saturday at MCAS Miramar

Military firefighters will set and monitor several controlled burns today at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

The fires, part of routine training regimens at the U.S. Marine Corps station in northern San Diego, will begin at 9 a.m. and continue for roughly three hours, the base public-affairs office advised.

People in surrounding communities may see flames and smoke, but no roadway visibility restrictions or air-quality problems are expected, according to military officials.
