Aubrianne and Eric Scheldt, of Encinitas, welcomed baby girl Iona in an unexpected location this morning—Interstate 5 near Carmel Valley Road.
Mom and baby were recovering at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla on Wednesday afternoon.
Iona weighs 9 pounds 2 ounces and is 20 inches long.
