411 on New La Jolla Information Center

The La Jolla Information Center moved into a more prominent space on Prospect Street on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

The La Jolla Information Center has a new home. The center, which gets more than 30,000 visitors each year, opened at 1162 Prospect St. on Wednesday morning. The space is much larger and more visible to visitors looking for information than its previous home on Herschel Avenue.

The info center helps visitors and those on staycations with questions about local restaurants, shopping, tours, golf, transportation and events. The center has maps and visitors guides too. And pretty soon, the center will have computers for you to make your own reservations for dinner, tours and tee time.

The large window displays that flank the entrance of the Information Center will host displays of local businesses over the next few weeks and the back office space is home to the La Jolla Village Merchants Association.

The La Jolla Information Center is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. It will have extended hours during the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines later this month.

The informaiton center can be reached at 858-454-5718.
