Doug Sawyer, who is retiring from the helm of United Way of San Diego County after eight years, received a proclamation from Assembly Members Toni Atkins and Brian Maeinschein (who also worked under Sawyer running the organization’s homelessness efforts).
Sawyer led the organization through a transformation – strategically investing to improve early grade reading, financial self-sufficiency and ending homelessness.
