YouTube Clip of the Week: Sharks Swarm La Jolla Shores

Hundreds of leopard sharks came into the shallow waters of La Jolla Shores last year to give birth.

This short YouTube video has impressive aerial views of hundreds of leopard sharks visiting our neighborhood last year. Many of us have seen them from the water, but the view from the sky is just beautiful.

“Enjoy them enormously. I think we are incredibly lucky,” said Nigella Hillgarth, executive director of Birch Aquarium at Scripps in the video. “They are one of the greatest wildlife sights or our coast. To have these beautiful large, but harmless, sharks right next to us is cool.”

We agree. It is so cool that we selected this 1-minute video as our YouTube Clip of the Week.
