SD Fire Department Rescue Pregnant Women Trapped in Elevator

A pregnant women and her 2-year-old son were trapped in an elevator in a residential property at 7585 Eads Ave. in La Jolla Monday evening.

A pregnant woman and her 2-year-old son were trapped in an elevator in La Jolla on Monday around 6 p.m.

Maurice Luque with San Diego Fire-Rescue said the two were inside the elevator in a residential property at 7585 Eads Avenue near Silver Street for more than 20 minutes before firefighters arrived on scene.

The elevator doors were not forced open. Firefighters reset the elevator from the control panel and the elevator then operated, Luque said.

The elevator was taken out of service pending an inspection.

San Diego Fire-Rescue said no one was injured in the incident.
