Empress Hotel in La Jolla Sold

Invest West Financial/Pacifica Hotel Company sold the Empress Hotel for an undisclosed sum to Greystone Hotels.

Empress Hotel, a 73-room boutique hotel on Fay Avenue in La Jolla, sold for an undisclosed sum. Invest West Financial/Pacifica Hotel Company announced the sale on Wednesday afternoon. The buyer was Greystone Hotels.

Greystone Hotels owns properties in the San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles and San Diego markets, including Best Western Seven Seas in Hotel Circle and The Bristol Hotel downtown.

Pacifica Hotel Company said the sale opens up opportunities for company to seek new coastal development deals.

“Pacifica Hotel Company is poised to significantly increase its presence and prominence in the California hotel market,” said Pacifica Hotel Co. President Matt Marquis in a statement. “We are carefully evaluating the broad landscape and each individual asset to ensure we maintain the strongest investment portfolio while also continually elevating the properties themselves and our guests’ experiences.”
